It's the reason any of the other stuff matters. Kitschy was created to be somewhere people could gather, make things, try something new, take up space, and find each other. We're especially proud to create room for Dayton's queer, creative, alternative, and wonderfully niche communities — whether that's through events happening inside our walls or collaborations that take us beyond them. The room may be Gem City Kitschy, but the heartbeat has always belonged to the people who fill it.

"It Really Feels Like It's A Space For Us"
It’s hard to explain until you’ve actually been to something here, but Kitschy just feels like a place where you can truly show up as yourself. Nobody is looking at you sideways, nobody is asking you to tone it down, and somehow you end up talking to people you’ve never met like you’ve known them forever. Dayton has a lot of cool people doing really cool shit, and it’s nice to finally have another space that feels like it was made for us.
